Whitewater Rowing School

Classes will be scheduled from April to June 15th and September-October each year. Classes are intended to be taken with your own boats, however limited rentals are available for an additional fee. Call for availability

Introductory Class

2 day class $299

Intermediate Class

3 day class $499

The Introductory class is a hybrid class based in classroom and on the river. This class will go over the basics of rafting for whitewater, leisure, and fishing purposes. Core content of the class will include how to safely set up your raft, necessary supplies, how to read moving water, river dangers and how to avoid them, river etiquette, river stewardship, and safety practices. Class includes 1 lake based session teaching and practicing maneuvers, and one flatwater trip on the Lower Flathead River.

2024 Start dates 4/20, 5/11

The Intermediate class is a hybrid class based in classroom and on the river. This class is intended for people who already have some experience in river running and want to expand their knowledge. This class will go over more advanced skills like safety, reading and running whitewater in class II, III, and water level dependent class IV. Class includes 6 hours of classroom instruction and 5 different runs going down the Buffalo rapids section of the Lower Flathead river. Instruction will be riverside and on boat instruction throughout the course.
